Mike Zeinfeld
Mike Zeinfeld has worked in marketing for ten years in various industries, focusing on technology and branding. In his latest role, he was chief executive officer of ReachMD, a medical communications start-up. At ReachMD, Mike developed and launched the first ever 24/7 national radio platform medical professionals which aired on XM Satellite Radio and online. Prior to ReachMD, Mike worked in product marketing Abbott’s renal care franchise. Before Abbott, Mike managed direct to consumer research initiatives for TAP pharmaceuticals. Mike also was a management consultant at ZS Associates - one of the top consulting firms in health care - focusing on pharmaceutical strategic marketing and sales force strategy. Additionally, Mike founded several business networking organizations, which together have over 10,000 members nationally.
Paul Raeburn (Host)
Paul Raeburn is the author of the memoir Acquainted with the Night: A Parent’s Quest to Understand Depression and Bipolar Disorder in His Children (Broadway Books, 2004). From 1996-2003, he was the science editor and a senior writer at Business Week. Before that, he was the science editor and chief science correspondent at The Associated Press. He is a commentator for National Public Radio’s Morning Edition, and occasional guest host of NPR’s Talk of the Nation: Science Friday. And he is the organizer of the annual New Horizons in Science writers’ conference, sponsored by the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing. Raeburn is also the author of Mars published by the National Geographic Society in 1998, and The Last Harvest, published by Simon & Schuster in 1995. He has written for The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Psychology Today, The Washington Post, Discover, Popular Science, Child, Self, Technology Review and many other newspapers and magazines.
Jon Currie (Host)
Jon Currie is the founder and President of Currie Communications, Inc. Uniquely qualified for this role, Jon has been a player in virtually every phase of the Industry. Before starting his own firm, Jon ran Arbitron Ratings’ Los Angeles office, beginning the infamous Arbitron-Nielsen meter wars in markets such as Denver. Jon got to the ratings business from ASI Market Research’s famous Preview House headquarters in Hollywood, as ASI’s head research guru. At ASI, Jon conducted and supervised hundreds of studies on television, advertising, cable, and movie viewership for all three networks, most major production companies, many New York ad agencies and many cable television providers in the early days, participating in such research as the launch of CNN. Jon took the long road to Hollywood, detouring through Iowa, of all places, where he consulted media nationwide at Frank Magid Associates. At Magid, Jon worked on projects like the launch of Good Morning America. Magid lured Jon from the academic world where he was Director of Broadcasting, Associate Professor of Speech Communications and General Manager of WASU at Appalachian State University, a branch of the University of North Carolina system. And before academia, Jon was a TV and radio personality in the Midwest.
Bob Kaden (Host)
Bob was Executive Director of the Chicago office of Bruskin/Goldring Marketing Research, a division of MAI, plc. In this capacity he managed a staff of 20 professionals and had overall responsibility for the operation of the office. In his career, Bob has written many articles on market research applications for direct marketers and lectured widely on the use of creative problem-solving techniques as they apply to research, strategic planning and new product development processes. Bob’s speaking engagement have brought him to London, Paris and Moscow, where he addressed international audiences on the use of attitude research in the direct marketing industry as well as on application of creative problem-solving principles to marketing problems. Bob is the author of Guerrilla Marketing Research, a book targeted primarily at small and mid-size businesses and which describes the marketing research techniques that will help any business make more money.
